Why downspouts are not enough
In a Northeast Florida summer storm, a single downspout can release a surprising volume of water in minutes. Splash blocks and short extensions only move it a few feet. The result is soggy ground along the foundation, washed-out mulch beds, puddles on walkways, and water working its way toward the slab.
How underground drainage works
Each downspout connects to a buried drain pipe. The line runs under the yard with a steady slope, carrying the water to a spot where it can safely drain, typically through a pop-up emitter in the lawn or to another suitable outlet away from the home.
